To be inacted it takes more than just the President. Not a reality to think those who oppose being drafted would show up either.
Tbh, I think there are plenty that would want to volunteer because they want to serve, blow shit up, &/or shoot people, get out of prison, or some other bad situation, etc., so, there wouldn't need to be additional to support regular or even reserve military. The population since 1973 has grown exponentially too so, doubtful it will ever be necessary again.

The average young person nowadays would need 5 years training if he were drafted. One year to get them away from Mom. Another year to pry their hands away from video games. The next year to get them in shape. A fourth year to train them technically in the military arts. And a fifth year to show them how to be brave.
