Assassins disguised as nurses ‘finish off’ woman inside Tijuana ER

Two hitmen dressed as nurses snuck into the ER at Tijuana’s General Hospital on Wednesday to “finish off” a woman who had been the target of a shooting the day before, Tijuana police said.

The woman was initially brought to the ER after being shot outside a convenience store on Tuesday evening.

Police say witnesses saw a man approach the victim outside the store, but when she ignored him, he took out a gun and shot her in the abdomen and arm.

Paramedics transported her to Tijuana’s General Hospital for treatment.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Wendy M.

Investigators have told reporters they have yet to find a motive for the murder, describing the woman as a single mother who lived modestly and cleaned houses for a living.

According to police, she was shot twice at close range and killed by the “pretend nurses” as she slept on a gurney Wednesday evening in the hospital’s emergency room.

Witnesses have told various Mexican publications that National Guard soldiers were on patrol in the emergency room but did nothing to stop the suspects as they ran out of the hospital.

Hospital administrators say they are cooperating with police, but have refused to answer questions about how the gunmen were able to gain access to the emergency room area and the victim.

I have been to Tijuana many times, though it was over 40 years ago. If something happened to me, I think I would just try to crawl back to San Diego.
