The last one is one of the explanations of poverty at work: A man needs shoes for work. There's a very good pair, that will last 5 years, despite of daily use, that's 250 dollars. But man does not have 250 dollars, needs the work, so he buys the 75 dollar pair. He needs to do this every year, that's their max durability. In the end, he has spend 375 on 5 pairs of shoes and the other dude just 250 on one pair.
That always gets me when people talk down on poor people for not being smart. They sometimes can't afford to be smart and it'll keep them poor.
