You wake up in 1995 (no Internet, no mobiles)

2 out of my 3 sons are lazy, entitled pricks. They hate me for being a functioning member of society instead of a sloth of a leech. It is very sad indeed.
Having to use your imagination as a child, is a very important skill, something anyone under the age of 20 has never had to do and it's only getting worse. The internet should explode, if mankind has any hope but fuck it i guess

What's the first thing you do?

1. Call my father a cunt, I was too young and scared back then.

2. Call all my grandparents

3. Pack my BMX in and put it in storage (which my mother threw away in 1996)
Leverage as much money as I can and become the next Warren Buffet. It's the beginning of the .com boom, cash out in 2000 before the crash. NVIDIA was 13 cents a share in 2000. Today it's $159. Knowing what you know the potential is limitless.

Twilight Zone logic tells me that if you bought NVIDIA shares at .13 cents you would buy so many that you would become a majority share holder, taking the place of the share holders that would have made the company successful (through their voting in specific CEO's and exsecutives) and then 30 years later you will wonder why NVIDIA failed and you lost everything when you "knew the future" not realizing your actions changed it. 💁‍♂️

There would be capital raises and dilution so you'd always be making money short or long term. Even if it dipped just buy more because the end result will be the same: AI not gamers.

I know, I just like the idea of chaos theory, like if someone went back in time and merely coughed once, it could lead to someone getting sick, they don't show up to work, someone comes in to fill their shift, and then just this insane domino effect plays out where the world 30 years later is just entirely different.

95' yeah, we had internet. But I was more commonly found playing this back then. As well as actually getting out of the house and being far more productive.

The internet was very much alive and well in 1995 if you possessed the technical know-how required to use it. It was slow, but it was there.

When I wake up in 1995 am I the version of me that existed in 1995 or am I present-day me sent back to 1995 where I can give myself some winning lottery ticket numbers? Like, an entire year's worth of lottery numbers?
I wonder when and how the 'authorities' would react to a non stop winning streak with Lottery numbers from the future?

Ones wealth would increase expodentially to such an extent we'd be hard pressed to hide it or even 'wash' it.

In the book Time Traveler's Wife Audrey Niffenegger (love that name) explores what is possible to do with remembered numbers and formulaes. It's a good read and goes deeper into the ideas than the movie did.

Henry brings back chemical formulas for new drugs to help him stop time traveling but has issues with how accurately he can remember them.

Henry also provides stock tips to friends.

And wins the lottery so they have enough money to buy their perfect house.
