I called a cop an asshole once at an unlawful DUI checkpoint. In the entire USA, you're not required to lower your window, speak to the cops or do anything they ask or tell you to do UNLESS you've been undeniably accused of a crime. You don't even have to show your license if you don't want to. DUI checkpoints are absolutely, 100% illegal but they set them up anyway knowing most people will just comply. Look it up, it's true. (Unlawful search and seizure.)

The next day, that same cop showed up at my home and tried to bully me into an apology or something, talking about respect blah blah blah. I told him to get off my property unless he had a warrant and long story short, I filed a civil complaint and he was ultimately fired.

I’m not 100% for police? However I do know for a fact that usually there IS a crime committed for them to be talking to you. I used to hate them myself. But I grew up and realized it was me who was fucking up more so than them
