Baby assassins 3. 2024. Japan.
5/10
Two young girls are assassins on a mission.
Not having seen the previous films wasn't much of a issue. The film is hyper violent with very well staged fight scenes. The plot is they are sent to kill a bloke by an organization of assassins. But a rouge killer is after their target. The then have to team up with a older more serious couple.
The two lead characters have a bubbly chatty way about them. They talk alot, and it tends to kinda be mindless chit-chat. It was fine for a while, but did get rather boring. Colorful and well filmed.

Big trouble in little china. 1986.
8/10
Entertaining action comedy with a fantasy plot, fully realized with believable characters. Kurt Russel stars as the helpless white guy, surrounded by a full ensemble of knowledgeable chinese characters. John Carpenter directs, lots of practical effects ensure it doesn't get boring.

That movie is a masterpiece.

A movie by an Argentine director Lucretia Martel, named "The Holy Girl".
Quietly excellent movie ... must watch! It's a healing story.

Superman. 2025
5/10
A version of Superman in the 21st century, his id is known to Lois, there are other 'metahumans, some working with Lex Luther the main villan, he's not popular and gets beaten up alot. The film asks alot of the casual viewer, it announces other characters, and they seem important but kinda aren't.
Very dramatic story that has emotional weight to it, combined with top cgi and bit of humour. But feels like one for fans of the comics, no ties to any previous productions.

I haven't watched this movie and was wondering if it's really a bit woke? I've watched Man Of Steel, and it's one of the best superhero films—the action and score are fantastic. Reviews say Man Of Steel was dark, real, grounded and less "comical", while this new one adheres to the ethos of the original comic, is hopeful from the start and just... coying and too idealistic? Maybe.

So many elements went into this story, I don't think there is way to define if its 'woke' or not. It did seem very light compared to The suicide squad
Jurassic World Rebirth. 2025
2/10
7th in the overall series, forth in the world franchise. Casual viewers don't have to seen any of the films. With a few references to the original. Its slightly interesting, but a very safe, colourful, boring film. The dino cgi is 'impressive', but the pre set moves by the actors, reveals the set up and fails to inspire.

F1 2025.
8/10
First person view, with a Hans Zimmer score, of what it looks like at speed in a F1 car. Immense visuals with really stunning camera work inside and out different team areas to combine with real time racing.
Kinda generic story line and tactile win, but all acting is very good.

Part one reveiw.

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning 2025.
6/10
Mission success. Dramatic on the stunts, staging of fights, camera movement, edited scenes linking the whole 'series'. It is a epic action film, with a plot that held no interest. Earlier films are stand alone good films, starting with De Palma.

I recently watched Weapons at my local cinema. An abstruse story but the film still managed to entertain me.

A complete unknown. 2024
3/10
Bob Dylan bio pic.
Very limited to a certain time and events. Nice quiet kind of film, nothing really stands out, filmed well, lead actor is good as Dylan, comes across as shy and prickly in general. Has all the classic early Dylan songs and shows how he paired up with Joan Baez. Nothing really memorable.

Le couperet. (The ax) 2005. France.
6/10.
A executive in a paper company wants a job like he had before, but he needs to eliminate any other applicants for the one he wants.
Interesting black comedy that has a steady pace, small cast and a interesting plot. Being he is the only one involved, the film mostly follows him, but has a few different elements that add nicely. Not much depth to it, just a interesting film about wanting to 'stay on top', so to speak.
