Backstory

Gabriel Alencar dos Santos, 24, died this Sunday (November 23rd), two days after being shot during a traffic dispute in Peruíbe, on the coast of São Paulo. The suspect, a 37-year-old driver, was arrested after the crime.

According to police investigations, Gabriel and the shooter had a disagreement after a traffic accident in the Vila Erminda neighborhood. Minutes after the argument, the driver returned armed and fired at least six shots at the young man. Surveillance cameras recorded the entire incident.

Gabriel had been married for over eight years and was expecting the birth of his first child, due in February. The news of his death deeply affected his family, who describe the young man as hardworking, caring, and with no history of conflict.
