Hooray! We totally dodged the Ice but friends not too far North of me are facing the night and maybe tomorrow without power and 15 F cold.

I hope all my GG friends and frienemies are doing ok. Check in if this Wx is majorly fucking up your life. Maybe we can help ease the pain. It’s gonna be rough going for a while for some folks.

When will people learn? Less than $1000 at Harbor Freight and another $100-$150 at Home Depot for a plug, HD wire and a circuit breaker and the could energize the necessities at home like the fridge, microwave, inet, lights and some heat! This shit goes from being a disaster to just an inconvenient additional $40-$50 a day for gasoline.

Wild. People don’t think twice about a $700 car payment but won’t spend a grand to prepare for power outages (we have hurricane and tornado related outages almost every year). Crazy priorities.

It was 1°F this morning when I woke up.

Now it’s a balmy 4°F

Will be working from home until probably Wednesday, depending how the roads look.

I’d prefer to go into the office where all my resources are, but it’s 45 min away on a clear day. Not going to risk going in on shitty cleared roads.

You got that right. Store is work at.couldnt keep anything on the shelves stickers were trying to stock the shel es and it was flying off like it was the end of the world or something.
I made.sure we had the normal things I get every week, made a turkey I had in the freezer incase we lost power and could have turkey sammiches and turkey salad. Power did go out so today turning what's left into turkey pot pies . Only think I ran out of was bottles of coke thank god for coffee
