I got the same one its shitI bought this last August - our last toastie machine was great - until it died...
this one isnt great but its marked as "deep fill" which it isnt...
anyone have a better one?

it means you should be able to fill the toastie fuller prior to toasting - surely you can grasp that?WTF DOES DEEP FILL MEAN? SPEAK ENGLISH!

This is way more gooder and produces a far superior hot sandwich.
Heat, medium high. Put meat flat in skillet. Cook approximately 1-2 minutes. Flip meat and put cheese on top. Cook approximately 1-2 minutes. Put meat on GOOD BREAD (meaning no king loaf, you're not making a PBJ here), and toast in pan until both sides of sandwich are beautifully browned and toasty, about 5 minutes total.
