Police say the 39-year-old actor was kicked out of a business on Royal Street after causing a disturbance.
Actor Shia LaBeouf was then arrested and accused of hitting two people amid Mardi Gras celebrations.
"Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf who used his closed fists on the victim several times," police said in a news release. "The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive."
Multiple people tried to hold down the "Transformers" star and former Disney child actor, but when they let him up to allow him to leave, LaBeouf is alleged to have hit the same victim with a closed fist to the upper body, police said.
"LaBeouf then reportedly assaulted another person — punching him in the nose," police said. "LaBeouf was again held down until police arrived."
LaBeouf was taken to a hospital for treatment "of unknown injuries," and he was arrested upon his release. He was charged with two counts of simple battery, according to police and online records.
Former child actor, Shia LaBeouf has had a complicated relationship with alcohol.
