After US President Donald Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz,

"Iran said that if its energy infrastructure is targeted, it will strike back at energy, IT and desalination facilities belonging to the United States and its allies in the region.
Spokesperson of Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) said, “Following previous warnings, if Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is attacked by the enemy, all energy, information technology, and desalination infrastructures belonging to the US and the regime in the region will be targeted."
The warning shows a possible escalation that could severely affect the Gulf region. Iranian officials indicated that key infrastructure would be at risk if tensions continue to rise.
Desalination has emerged as a critical concern in this situation. Gulf countries depend heavily on desalination plants for their drinking water supply. Any disruption to these facilities could have serious consequences for daily life in the region.
Iran’s threat raises the possibility of widespread disruption. Targeting such essential infrastructure could bring the Gulf to a standstill, given its reliance on these systems for clean water and other basic needs.
A report warned that a strike on Saudi Arabia’s Jubail desalination plant could force the evacuation of Riyadh’s 8.5 million residents within a week." Source

I get the feeling that Israel is half-assed hitting Iran, while the US is going full in, but that the US is going full in to give Israel the ability to mostly hit Lebanon, make incursions there and defend from Iranian missiles. It's like two wars going on at the same time.
