They can hang on pretty well to high winds but I'm pretty sure it fell off at higher speed. If this guy was in the wheel well, perhaps it may had made it to whatever destination if it didn't freeze to death.I wonder if that's the real reason green iguanas became an invasive species in Florida... All because they hitched a ride on an airplane. They're supposedly a big nuisance & you're asked to humanely kill them but, that seems drastic. I wouldn't want to have to anyway.
Agreed. Plus aren’t they known for falling out of trees during freezes? Once the temp dropped after climb, grip or not he would have fallen. They can hang on pretty well to high winds but I'm pretty sure it fell off at higher speed. Do they? It must not freeze very often or stay freezing long enough for them to succumb or they wouldn't have been able to become an invasive, nuisance, non-native species though & they have per Florida's Fisheries & Wildlife Department & whomever else monitors that sort of thing.Plus aren’t they known for falling out of trees during freezes?

Yeah their metabolism slows to a crawl as a defense mechanism to ensure they don’t freeze, but as a result they fall out of the trees in a coma of sorts. Then when it warms up they come to and go on about their business.Do they? Imagine a frozen lizard falling on you from the sky. 😆
Tokay geckos have suction cup feet that are pretty strong, stronger than an iguana's I'd say. If it doesn't freeze & is in a spot out of the wind, it probably could make it like the green iguana has & they are another invasive species to Florida but the theys say it is from humans releasing their pet geckos into the wild & they multiplied.
Wtf is going on in Florida ffs?
