Thanks babe. :approved:

Here's my banana "smoothie" recipe (some might class it closer to a milkshake, whatever), developed by me from scratch. I always eyeball the ingredients, but I'll do my best to describe quantities with some accuracy. Might need to adjust them to your tastes. This isn't rocket science, but getting something that tastes good as fuck and just right took a bit of trial and error.

Ingredients:
  • 2 well-ripened bananas (some brown mottling on the skins, but don't look like straight turds)
  • 2 cups whole milk (approx.)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon (I use Penzey's blend, good-quality cinnamon is important)
  • 2 tbsp. white sugar

This isn't some commie hipster drink that uses a trendy brand of Turbinado sugar (no different nutritionally than white sugar), exotic plantains from Thailand, or other such nonsense. It's the same shit your grandmother used to make pies. Get real vanilla extract, too—not alcohol-free nonsense. I usually make my own, you just rip some vanilla beans in half lengthwise and dump them in vodka or brandy for about a month. If you have diabetes or hate things that taste good, you can reduce the amount of sugar, substitute Splenda or some other nasty chemical, or skip it entirely (actually it's pretty decent even with no sugar).

Instructions:

Peel the bananas (this is important, otherwise the peels won't be coming off), put them in a plastic zip bag or other container, and freeze them solid.

When you're ready to make the smoothie, cut the frozen bananas into 1/8ths and place them in a blender. I use an immersion blender because they're convenient as fuck and easy to clean. Pour in enough milk to just barely cover the banana slices. Now add in the cinnamon, the vanilla extract, and the sugar, and blend slowly at first, gradually working up to a medium speed. You don't want to get anywhere near the liquefy setting, stick with medium. When it appears well-blended, it's ready to drink. I often sprinkle a bit more cinnamon on top before drinking.

This easily makes enough banana smoothie for two people.
