A Georgia family is demanding answers after a 12-year-old girl died days after a fight that allegedly began at school and continued after she got off the bus in her neighborhood.

Jada West, the Douglas County child, passed away Sunday after spending several days in the intensive care unit following an altercation that reportedly began Thursday at Mason Creek Middle School and continued during the bus ride home.

In a lengthy Facebook statement, Jada's aunt, De'Quala McClendon, described the moments leading up to the incident and urged people to share the video circulating online.

"Please please everyone share this post…this is the hardest thing I have to write, post, and share," McClendon wrote.

According to McClendon, Jada had gotten into an argument on the bus with a girl she did not know, but who had allegedly been having issues with her since the family moved into the neighborhood. A video shared by relatives shows Jada getting off the bus and questioning why other students were following her.

"In this video you will hear her say she doesn't want to fight… she will ask why is everyone getting off the bus," McClendon wrote, adding that Jada could also be heard asking the other girl if she wanted to fight "because of noise."

McClendon also alleged that an adult present during the situation failed to intervene before the fight escalated.

According to the family, Jada collapsed before she could make it home and was rushed to a children's hospital in Atlanta, where doctors reportedly told relatives she was possibly brain-dead. She has since passed away.

This reminds me just how fragile the brain and the human body can be. She obviously hit her head, but it didn't look like that tumble would be fatal.

It really is. I can only imagine how many people on this site reading about this post got into an after school fight back when they were 12 but now, if only they could empathize for but a moment, they or the kid they had fought, died though!
I don't know what happened that made this girl's heart stop after she'd been in this fight but, they need to look at what happened from the time she fought to later when her heart stopped, which is why she was taken to the hospital. Maybe she ingested some drugs? Apparently, they were able to get her heart pumping again but, she still ended up dead.

This case actually seems more like all the other mysterious death stories of seemingly healthy young people whose heart stopped and yes, since covid-19 became a thing as did the vaccines. They engage in some sort of physical exertion & then during or shortly thereafter they drop dead with no real explanation. They keep saying head injury with this girl but, it didn't seem like she had a bad head injury.

It absolutely was a head injury that killed her. Landing on the base of your skull on the back of your head like she did can easily be fatal. There's an off switch there that can shut you down landing on it from any height on to a hard surface.

People die hitting their head on the ground just falling from their feet all the time. It's the most common cause of death that results from a street fight that turned fatal. It's rarely ever the punch that kills directly.

I didn't say it wasn't and I know all about TBIs, thanks. I have had several in my lifetime and have dibilitating migraines and will for the rest of my life probably from them - though proving that is an entirely different matter. So, I completely understand that you can. I was just pointing out that in the articles & posts surrounding what happened to this girl (there's a lot of them particularly on FB) they pointed out her heart had stopped suddenly. That was how/why it is she ultimately was taken by ambulance to a hospital. She died obviously after having been admitted, IDK how much time passed til she died.
There was a similar case & it's the only one I can think of off the top of my head where a famous woman, Natasha Richardson, who was skiing & bumped her head slightly in a fall & she had actually been checked out by EMTs from an ambulance crew slope-side but, she did not feel the need go to the hospital to get further checked out and said she was just going to go back to her chalet and rest with what they deemed was only a slight concussion. Two days later she died too. Afterward, her family said she didn't seem too concussed even but it was that slight bump to her skull that ultimately killed her. 🤷🏼‍♀️
