About 40 people are believed to have been killed and 100 injured after a fire tore through a crowded bar during a New Year’s Eve party in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana, according to the Italian foreign ministry.

Swiss police confirmed several dozen partygoers were dead. The victims could not be immediately identified because of the severity of their burns, the ministry said. It confirmed arson was not responsible, with the blaze thought to be the result of an accident.

Our PM Albenese is twisting himself in knots at present desperate to avoid having to hold a Royal Commision into the Bondi pogrom. It's fascinating to watch him contort logic in his arguments.

He's clearly scared shitless that a Royal Commision will unearth the Government's total lack of preperation since Oct 7th in dealing with antisemitism and its refusal to listen to advice on this. Despite weekly pro Gaza/Hamas marches in Melbourne and Sydney, burning synagogs, harrassment of Jewish academics and artists etc etc etc.

Every time any antisemitism was raised he'd say 'my governement is determined to stamp out anti semisitism and islamophobia', despite there being no islamophobia... in fact the Muslims were driving convoys into the Jewish areas of Sydney and Melb. trying to stir up shit.
