A query about Avengers Endgame...

I recently rewatched Marvel's Avengers Endgame, and something that I totally ignored when I watched the film in the cinema back in 2019, is now puzzling me.

How did Captain America return the Soul Stone?

To get it, you had to "lose that which you love the most", and when Thanos sought the stone, he killed his daughter Gamora, to acquire it. When Black Widow and Hawkeye went to get it, eventaully BW sacrificed herself, so that Hawkeye could gain the stone. So, if you have to lose a soul to gain the Soul Stone... how do you go about returning it? We never saw where it came from (the people who did get it just "woke up" with it in their hand) so where do you go to "put it back"?

Did Cap just stroll up to Red Skull and say "Sup bruv, long time no see, how's it hanging Johann?" and give HIM the stone? Red Skull admitted to Thanos that he was cursed to be the Keeper of the Stone, for it was something he could never possess. So, what happens to Johann if Cap gives him the Soul Stone?

So many unanswered questions.

Anyone got a better idea of how Captain America returned the Soul Stone at Vormir?

I did really like Jackie Earle Haley's character in that movie when I saw it. Don't remember much from that movie.
You are confusing Watchmen for Endgame. I guess you're not enough of a fag to know the difference.

As an aside, "Watchmen" is a great film, and should have done better in the Box Office when it was on cinema release. Alas, it was badly marketed, and instead of people turning up for a "mindless" superhero film, they got a dark, grimy, gritty story with bloody violence and antiheroes. Such a good film!

Actually I realize now I confused Jackie earle Haley with Michael rooker. I think his character was named Yondu?

When they bring time travel into the mix of the fiction, which is strictly theoretical, it fucks with the space time continuum for me such that any and all things are simultaneously possible. It's part of the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI). So there's that.
That's nice, but still doesn;t explain what Cap had to do to return the Soul Stone......

Yeah, was in deep thoughts on that one too.

Though Endgame hides how Cap returned the stones, this idea fits with the Ancient One's time rules. Picture a strange Vormir meet-cute with Red Skull to return the Soul Stone, unlike their grim first go-around.

Idk a better idea than that.

Side note: is there a petition to get Black Widow back? Because I'd sign it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I think SJ has opted to leave BW in her wake. She's not getting any younger, and her outfits kept getting tighter....

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America returns the Soul Stone to Vormir and gives it back to Red Skull. Banner sends Captain America back in time to 2014 after Tony Stark's funeral so he can return the Infinity Stones to their original locations. Captain America then returns to the alternate 1940s to retire after giving the Soul Stone back to Red Skull.

Obviously, he used the time stone to return it unnoticed... by stopping time.

But that opens up a whole nest of worms. Red Skull was made the Keeper of the Soul Stone because he could never claim it for himself - he loved no one but himself. If Cap gives him the stone, he is freed from his curse AND now has an Infinity Stone (with the power over life, death, and beyond life). How does giving the stone to Red Skull "put it back where it belongs"?

They only needed to return each stone to their rightful timeline to preserve the integrity of each per the Ancient Ones. That means when it belongs not with whom it belongs necessarily.

Ok.... so Cap returns to 2014 and just..... leaves the Stone somewhere? Or does he travel to Vormir and just leave it there?

After the song and dance (and deaths) required to unlock the Soul Stone, Captain America just drops it in a gutter somewhere in 2014 and that's okay?

Nah. It's a massive plot-hole, and I don't think anyone (including the script writers) can properly account for it.

Bastards at Disney+ probably have a seven season girl boss centric show in the works detailing in agonizing detail how this happened
