A 41-year-old Turkish man opened fire with a rifle outside a Netto supermarket in Dresden before being shot multiple times by police.

The suspect, a known offender, was reportedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the standoff. He survived and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have this morning shot a man who witnesses say screamed 'Allahu Akbar' and fired a 'musket-like' gun outside a German supermarket.
