Berriozábal.- Inhabitants of the Las Maravillas and Monte Cristo communities documented an armed confrontation between opposing groups that occurred in the vicinity of the area, causing terror among the inhabitants.
The incident took place on Saturday night. Some neighbors managed to record the moment of the front, in which bursts of thick-caliber weapons were heard, generating fear for their lives.





In the videos sent to this media, you can hear what seems to be a "top" between organized crime groups, a confrontation that lasted several minutes.
Citizens of Las Maravillas, Monte Cristo, and surrounding areas, including rancherías and ejidos, guarded themselves when they heard the detonations, fearing that a stray bullet could cause a tragedy in their homes. Many guarded its doors, fearful that armed groups could enter their homes, increasing the panic among the inhabitants.
Currently, it is unknown if there were injured or deaths, since no authority has come to the area to verify the situation and evaluate the damage of the confrontation.

Imagine being the first on the scene after the last bullet was fired and finding drugs, guns, and hundred dollar bills blowing in the wind. The faint groans of the mortally wounded still in the air.

I wouldn't blame the police, they're outgunned in a war that's impossible to win. It's not even a war, its just a massive seperate but ever present danger inherent to their civilization. How can you win a war when you aren't even the one fighting it, you are merely observing several much larger groups around you engaged in it. And if or when one side wins, they won't see you as a threat, they'll just throw money your way to look the other way, and you'd do it too or get wiped out.
