Thailand. A 46-year-old Australian man, Simon Peter Carman, from Ballarat, has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 17-year-old Thai girl.

The girl was found naked and curled up inside an abandoned black suitcase in the grassy undergrowth beside the railway tracks. She had visible signs of severe assault, including facial swelling, bruising, and blood around her mouth and nose. She had been dead for more than a day when she was discovered.
