What do you think of bikes on the road?

What a bunch of morons. They should have blocked the road!

While it's always humorous to see cyclists flying due to their stupidity, in all seriousness it looked like a sanctioned race therefore that retard driver should not have been on that road. 😏

I’m glad you asked.

I can’t speak to other jurisdictions but in Alberta when travelling on public roads bicyclists are expected to abide by the Traffic Safety Act, the same legislation that applies to motor vehicles. This means that they have to maintain appropriate lane position, use signals to indicate stopping, turning, etc.. This means that they’re not supposed to weave in and out of traffic, go through intersections against red lights or not follow traffic signals, not go on/off sidewalks, etc..

While not all but a significant number of cyclists are complete dinks while on the road and ride in a way that makes it unsafe for them and everyone else around them.

Like a lot of cities we’ve spent millions to add dedicated cycle lanes in the core and now extending into suburban communities. These have come at the cost of existing motor vehicle lanes with often already congested traffic. A problem is that these bicycle lanes are grossly underused. To add insult to injury in winter these bike lanes are often have the snow cleared several times a day while the auto lanes are never touched.

Whether it’s the bad behaviour or the ridiculous costs to provide special lanes the bicycle community attempts to justify it because they’re better for the environment and are fighting climate change.

All this to say I should be allowed to run over any of these assholes with my truck whenever they cut me off or get in my way.
