Wow...I didn't realize the UK and Germany have gotten so bad. I visited the UK back in the early 90s and it was a fantastic trip, even though I was a young buck and really had no need to confront the police for anything. I was also stationed in the mid 90s in Germany for 4 years and the biggest issue we had was with the Turks. Had a guy get stabbed in the stomache by one of them. Sad to hear it's like it is now. Was thinking about a future return to revisit but think I'll pass and look at other destinations.
