Shanghai, an international city in China, is connected with the world.
However, Shanghai can only afford a house with a monthly rent of 7 US dollars. It is even just a cabinet, but it is cheap and the poor can at least escape the heavy rain.

Thats an idea, maybe I could rent out a few of my cupboards to some Chinese people, second income.

In areas of the west coast especially, in the USA, where there are lots of fresh off the boat chinese & other asians, I have heard of this type of space renting but I think while unfortunate & precarious a practice it helps keep young people off the streets & is more a kindness done by the landlord to help. They are aware of the homeless situation & often traveled here themselves from that foreign country too. 🤷‍♀️
