A 17-year-old powerlifter, Yashtika Acharya, died after a 270kg rod fell on her neck during a training session on Tuesday. Following the incident, Yashtika, a gold medallist at the Junior National Games, was rushed to a hospital, where medical staff declared her dead. Her trainer suffered minor injuries.

If you follow the video closely...he didn't even have ANY of the weight insured against downward failure. Not even one ounce. What a moron. He should be charged with (negligent) homicide. Seriously. Even if he had pulled with upward force on EITHER end of the barbell....her neck could have escaped past the bar and she would have had only a bruise and dented pride. Now she is dead.
