In my early 20s, I worked at a convenient store during the graveyard shift. I honestly had no clue how savagely unsafe the industry was.

When a customer came in, and asked me if we had a particular item in stock because it was out of stock on the shelf, I cheerfully went into the back room to look. Not thinking that they would rob the shit out of the place. They did.

I got fired after my third shift. Unbeknownst to me, the manager sat in his car across the street watching me to make sure I did my job. I didn’t 😜

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man walked into a Chevron in the Memorial area Monday night and, without making any demands, shot a store clerk in the face, according to police. Thankfully, the employee is expected to survive.

Police released surveillance video of the incident that happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 8600 block of Memorial Drive.
