Nope, I trained as an industrial chemist/process engineer. I know the difference between lithium and cobalt. The cathode of a lithium-ion cell does contains cobalt, which offers high stability and energy density.
Tesla's list of their battery raw material suppliers...
I hate them because they're boring, dull cars with no character whatsoever. They're toasters on wheels.
