Criminalizing homeless

How many homeless are veterans. I’ll say I know the US government treats veterans like step children and throws em to the wayside? But the vast majority are vets im a call bullshit right. YOU dont know what you’re talking about. Because any camp I’ve seen it certainly wasn’t ex soldiers but drug riddle trash. Mental health issues. Let me give you some insight on mental health. You know where it comes from? Drugs. Drug addiction produces mental health.

Are you homeless? How do you know what you’re talking about? Or are you just pulling stats out of your ass? Are you an expert in homelessness? No you’re fucking not. Don’t come at me like you are the king of homelessness and speak on their behalf with empathy.
Yes, I AM an expert in homelessness. I served voluntarily on three different state committees directly responsible for prevention and assistance services available to the homeless or those that were at risk of becoming homeless.

Among many other things, we:
  • Established & maintained contact with homeless members of the community & their immediate families, if available.
  • Organized awareness and intervention events including fundraisers and provision acquisitions.
  • Allocated and distributed donated funds used to provide homeless members of the community with specific needs, such as canes, orthopedic shoes, wheelchairs, toiletries, eyeglasses, etc.
  • Provided contact channels and assisted with direct communications to public assistance sources such as:
    • Food pantries, churches, farmer's markets, etc.
    • Free clinic events (which included mental health providers such as counselors, therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, and medical specialists including otolaryngologists, orthodontists, podiatrists, etc...)
  • Arranged and attended direct, in-person contact with local and state government representatives for the purposes of obtaining additional resources, funds and support.
And on and on...

I personally experienced homelessness after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It was one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but ultimately, it was life-changing in a positive way. What made it worse was that many of my neighbors and close friends were also rendered homeless and began experiencing the same roadblocks and red-tape bureaucratic bullshit that I did. So, I absolutely DO know what the fuck I'm talking about and you do not. Have a great fucking day.

Ah and store fronts aren’t private in major cities? Or on the outskirts of town where they set up camp isn’t private? Fuck those pieces of shit. They aren’t worthy of sympathy
I think every local govenrment should have a designated zoning area for homeless. Would be a win-win for everyone.

Agreed. Some local governments across the country have been doing something similar, but unofficially. Wouldn't want the legal responsibility if someone were to die on that property, would they?

Yeah, unfortunately if there is no financial incentive they probably dont care a whole lot

So Mr Expert. How man of those homeless people are now upstanding citizens that don’t leach off of the govern or looking for more assistance? Give me the %. Let’s see how big of an impact you made. And don’t give me that bs “If can make a difference in one persons life. It’s all that matters.”

How do we define "upstanding citizens"? Do you mean holding down a job, taking care of themselves and their children, or furthering their educations? What do you believe is required to be considered an upstanding citizen? Must one live in an expensive home in a quaint suburb under the thumb of an HOA to qualify as an upstanding citizen? Honestly, what kind of stupid question was that?

What I know for sure is this: People who've been provided the right assistance they need when they need it are much more likely to recognize and accept advanced assistance when it becomes available. Many homeless people lose hope after repeatedly being told to take a number and wait. They become frustrated and angry with a system that would much rather ignore them than acknowledge them.

If we don't intervene, nothing changes. In my opinion, an upstanding citizen will bend over backwards to help their fellow human in need. Or, you know, we could all become heartless cynics like yourself. Just remember that what you give, you get back.

This is where I disagree. First things first: upstanding citizen- someone who can take care of themselves and actually contributes to society. If you’re just fucking sucking off governement tits and not contributing shit but have loads of excuses why? You’re NOT worthy of being taken care of. There ARE ppl that have been dealt a bad hand in life and they could actually and would actually contribute to society if given the chance? These are your far and few but the ones we SHOULD be focusing on!

Secondly what you give you get back? So if I go give thousands of dollars to the homeless, (by buying food, clothing and providing housing) I’ll get it back? How? I’m a call bullshit. That’s a fictitious bullshit to make one feel good for “giving” their time to a cause.

I am a cynic to a degree. Reason being? Because is that selfless acts are usually done to help someone get back on their feet. Given a chance they’ll repay the favor or show they weee worth the chance given. To help a bum on the streets who you hear “all the time” say I’d love to get off the streets. But it’s hard.” How’s it harder than living on the streets? It’s excuses ppl make up.

Now granted physically immobile? Yes. Take care of those. But someone who has “mental illness” because they fucked themselves up with a concoction of different drugs? They can still function. Helping is one thing. But to keep helping without no results shown is another. In fact? It’s the very definition of insanity - to do the same things expecting different results. Both the giver and the homelessness are insane. Because the giver keeps giving but sees no results. But in their mind? They’re making a difference. The homeless; well, if they wanted change? They’d have changed right?

When I was younger I spent a while living in my car. Literally homeless with fuck all. I wasn't on drugs, I wasn't a criminal .. I was simply out of luck in life and taken advantage of by someone who left me struggling. Zero family support and unaffordable housing. Not ALL homeless people are homeless because they're stupid, drug addicts, criminals, mental patients etc. I hauled my way out from that situation - it was many years ago - there's not even the same opportunities anymore for people it's a whole lot worse so that's why there's so many on the street.
Just sayin' it's not all and one of the same ! there's literally hard working people who have jobs then go home to their car at night, cos there's just nowhere to fucking live, and moving out of town means losing the only income you have.
Forget about the "Skid row" meth head society on the streets - what about the ones nobody cares to think about  who aren't zombified criminals... who actually do their best but keep getting shit on!

I've seen firsthand that people can and do change, but only with persistent help. If somebody flat out refuses to help themselves, then all we can do is hope the best for them.

You've contradicted yourself far too many times for me take you seriously, so that's it for me. Have a great day.

Also , not all mental illness is caused by drug taking. When government stopped funding mental health services they emptied out all the clinics and care facilities and kicked them all onto the street. When vulnerable people are left with absolutely no supports, guidance or services.. they often turn to self medicate using illicit drugs / alcohol etc. Is it because all of those people are nefarious assholes? No. they just didn't have presence of mind to think rationally under immense pressures of severe poverty and circumstance. I think there needs to be less judging from high thrones of self importance - upon the lowly peasants... and look in the mirror at what you actually provide and contribute to society. Most people contribute nothing and look after themselves...that's the way the world is. Like it or not, that's the way society rolls. There's no point pretending to be a pillar of community just because you have a job and a roof over your head!

Absolutely agree. Spot on.

Nah. I guess you don’t travel. Even the poorest of nations. Ppl have houses. These fucks chose to be homeless. Less than 1% were doing the right thing and lost it all. Most made bad decisions and everyone around them turned their backs on them after they were getting fucked countless times. Fuck the homeless. No sympathy at all towards them.
A lot of these “houses” are huts that barely pass as houses. Not much better than a tent. How’s it any fucking different?? Y’all some close minded cocks.
I hope you end up homeless one day and then we’ll see how you like these criminalize homelessness.
Although living in mommy’s basement you may never be homeless 🤷🏼‍♂️

STFU! All you fucking pansy ass faggots talking about helping homeless but if you had to take a random one into your own home you’d 100% object. Talk about hypocrisy at its finest! It’s not MY job to help them. Way I see it? If my government doesn’t give 2 fucks about them? Why should I? It’s bad enough my government is trying to put me there as well. As they say, “charity starts at home!”

:really: damn. it's clear that the us government has been working overtime to fuck over americans in every way possible. homelessness is spreading across the nation like wildfire, and that government ploy is gonna result in even more "homelessness". shits not getting any better. criminalizing homelessness isn't gonna stop us from becoming homeless. we need a new government altogether. you better prepare for war. go figure.

Blame your government for it. Not me. If I give everything I have to less fortune? Guess where I am? Along with the less fortunate. So fuck you

As much as we NEED a war? We’re never going to get to that point. Americans are sheep. And anyone that goes against the grain with integrity is a psycho. The nation is divided. White liberal college delegates females who fuck niggers and love blm and protesting influence the idiots to vote along with them and they’ll never unite. There is no United States of America. Is States of America.

Wrong. I’m not brainwashed. You’re correct in the numbers in population. What you fail to realize is that half of whites side with other races. BLM movement originated as blacks for blacks. Now it’s almost predominantly whites protesting it. They’re the ones brainwashed. There will never be a civil war here. It’s a pipe dream. Division is too far gone. And the ones who have integrity will die at the hands of those who front the war.
