A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a boy, 15, was killed in a crash on a housing estate.

Officers were called to a collision between a car and an electric bike on Rowrah Crescent, Middleton, shortly before 12:00 BST.

Greater Manchester Police said the teenager died at the scene and his family were being supported by officers.

The force said detectives were looking into an alleged theft - over which another 15-year-old boy has been arrested - before the collision.

Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Dean, from GMP's Rochdale district, said: "This terrible incident has seen the death of a teenage boy, and we are working hard to establish the full facts of this case, in what is the very early stages of an investigation.
