We had an Indian who sold single cigs to us, made so much money he bought an street fighter arcade with it and made even more money!

Literally had queues of kids buying cigs and throwing coins into his machine. Smart guy for an Indian!

This must have been known in Victorian England because wooden houses burned down all the time.
It's a wonder that the same thing doesn't happen in the USA these days, because everything there is built from wood in a way that is still incomprehensible to this day, which is completely flammable, contagious, and not very long-lived.
You can find it pretty well in the USA, I don't understand why they don't build with fired block bricks and normal fired clay tiles (if I understand correctly, in Florida it is mandatory to use only concrete bricks during construction due to the many hurricanes)

USA and Victorian England were very different. For one, we don’t typically use coal as a home fuel/heating source, and we don’t require a near constant flame going for cooking and other necessities. For two, sheet rock covers most interiors, and while not flame retardant, it is flame dampening and will somewhat protect the wood structure behind it. For three, building everything with fire brick would be expensive and ugly, and this isn’t Soviet Russia.

Yup, when I was a kid we had this strange shop in our Town shopping centre called Jack Heads. It was a weird mush mash of tobacconist, newsagent's, sweet shop and all manner of unrelated crap. Was only a little shop that was big enough for about 3 kids or two adults in at a time
He had a big old jar on his counter, next to all the sweets that was full of Embassy No 6 cigarettes. Little filter cigarettes that he would sell us for 4p each. Ahhhh those were the days...cough...cough

Gypsies are found everywhere in the world but they make up about 0.2% of the world's population and are one of the smallest populations, there may be 4-5 million of them in total worldwide
They left India and settled in Romania, those who wanted to work (there weren't many of them) made a living from basket weaving or small tinsmith jobs, broom weaving, the rest led a criminal lifestyle, there were more of these
So in the late 1400s they flooded Europe but as the people living in European countries saw that these gypsies were very IQ deficient and good for nothing other than crime and prostitution and collective terrorism, so they either executed them all or deported them back to where they came from or put them on ships going abroad and then goodbye forever
