disagree about the part the breed matters, my dog is a pitboxer and she’s a bitch no pun intended. she’s literally scared of cats, but atleast she barks 🥲

There are very few absolutes. If you fall from a plane at 33k feet will you die? Well for one Stewardess she didn't. So that brings us to there are exceptions to every rule. Just because a small minority doesn't display a trait doesn't mean that a breed doesn't have that trait in their dna.

Data says that breed does matter, pitbulls not only have the most attacks tied to their breed but also cause the most severe injuries.
I don’t think pitbulls should be hunted down and killed; but I think there should be a ban of breeding them. Then with time the breed won’t be around anymore and if you truly love dogs you won’t care cuz you can just get any other dog breed (adopt one I suggest). But if you do care then you don’t truly love dogs and just care about how they look or see them as an accessory or have them just for status.

Fad and backyard breeders and puppy mills, their only intent is making money.
Then it's the buyers who think any dog is a cute dog. But have no fucking clue about the breed the have. And the people using it to boost their inflated ego. And the animal abusers. Or the cunts who let their children do anything to their dogs.

No well bred dog, with a good pedigree and from a responsible breeder, will just snap. A responsible breeder will also sort away most bad owners in a jiffy. And mostly these dogs are to expensive for the idiots.

I was once attacked by about 6 dogs at an abandoned larger old mill
I could barely kick them and run away from them, all six of them started biting my shoes and pants at the same time
Fortunately, I managed to escape, because if not, they would tear me to pieces
This happens more than once in areas where there are shepherd dogs but no one supervises them
There is always an "alpha dog" that has to be eliminated and then the others will run away immediately
Usually you have to use bear spray or shoot the dogs with a pistol or a rifle because they will bite you to death
By the way, I would euthanize all terrier-type dogs because they become unnecessarily wild, they were also bred for this, such as the Pitbull Staffordshire terrier or the Amstaff, and large herding dogs are also unnecessary because in many cases they do not protect the flock of sheep against bear attacks, maybe they only keep wolves away in the mountains
But you should know that no matter what type of dog, if there are more of them, they will immediately attack and bite the person to death
I have already killed several wild dogs with my bare hands and feet and disposed of a trained fighting dog as well.

this guy at work has a pit. and hes not aggressive at all. apparently, he can walk him without a leash and it wouldn't leave his side,no matter if a person or other dog is walking by. stays put by his side. till one day,someone entered into his yard,and the dog went after her. bit her. not mauled or anything,but a bite to say ,"keep the fuck out of my area". and yes theres signs posted that there is a dog on the premises. so its not like theres a surprise on the other side just waiting for someone.
now hes being sued by her.

if people want to claim "pit bulls are vicious", they first have to be able to tell the difference between the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully, American Bulldog, and American Pit Bull Terrier, without asking google. if they can't do that, they have no business talking like they know shit. those are all distinctive breeds with distinctive trait and temperaments.

Why does nobody ever seem to remember that Pit Bulls were bred to be strong and short tempered for the purpose of fighting? It's in their DNA. You can try to breed or train those traits out of them but it's still in their DNA. There is always the potential for them to snap back to their base traits.

The 2 pictures will lovingly snuggle with you for hours, but their true nature was clearly evidenced when a juvenile possum wandered into their territory. Within seconds the poor creature was literally rent in twain. Sad, brutal, but oh so efficient. ❤️

I never see anybody acknowledge that though. It drives me nuts that they don't. It should be basic knowledge. It's either not drilled into people when they are children or they willfully ignore it.

The real problem is when more than one are around. They began to remember their pack instincts. I was taught as a child that if I saw a pack of dogs to get indoors immediately and always be alert around strange dogs.

Mostly breed part hiw they were raised and hiw much interaction with people they have. My Rottweilers are good with people we introduce them to but not so much with strangers. The pitbull terrier side are biters. Breed does have a lot to do with it. Take a wolf. If you were able to get pups and raise it would take 10 generation to breed out the wild. But not all traits can be breed out.

Correct!!! Here's an example of what you just said. Other than Jasmine (the oldest ADOPTED black/tan female, because she bites children), ALL of our Chi's can sit on command, rarely get excited (unless YOU are loud) and are quite comfortable around, and play with children. My family has bred/raised chihuahuas since BEFORE me! For the Chi-it's THE OWNER!!! We VET families before they can take one home.
