I was down in a mine in Mount Isa (Qld, Aus) about 1.2km deep and saw a 400' hole that a dump truck had backed too far into and dropped down it. Driver killed. Imagine being that deep underground and then dropping hundreds of feet down into the dark... Good mine tour though, esp the express elevator that took the car down 1.2 km in what felt like seconds...
