Entire r/art subreddit effectively frozen following controversy (with links/screenshots/videos). LullabyOfScreams reporting!

Recently, the r/Art subreddit faced some controversy. A user posted a picture of his artwork, to which people commented requesting "prints." Aka high fidelity JPEG's, as opposed to just downloading it from the website. The uploader responded, sure! I have prints! This resulted in the mods removing it, as well as banning him, as this was viewed as self-promotion which is a bannable offense. When he reached out to the mod team, this was their response...

As you can see, not only did they not reinstate him, they deleted his ENTIRE post history (7 years of posting). Following the mod reporting him for harassment, he was banned by Reddit, with his appeal being denied as seen below:

This dispute gained widespread notoriety and the entire mod team collectively departed from the community, effectively shutting it down as no further comments, posts, etc. can be made. They left this heavily downvoted comment saying simply, "You win. We all resign." before leaving the community frozen. It should be noted that the downvote increased by a rate of over 1k downvotes/hour since being posted.
