This reminds me of the bakery section in Lidl. I go in there every day after picking my daughter up from school. There's a Dad with 6 kids who also goes there every day after the school run. They fill the bakery bags with pizza and donuts, then walk around the shop eating them. Then they fuck off without buying anything.
One day I bought three donuts and let my daughter eat one while I did the rest of the shopping. I told the cashier to charge me for 3 because one had been eaten. She looked at me like I was fucking mental then said, "you're the first person to admit to it".
They definitely turn a blind eye to it for some reason 🤷‍♀️

I caught a lady red-handed shoplifting cat food in the grocery one day, little packets of wet food, not cans, like three bucks apiece. She was just shoving them in her bag. I saw an employee and tipped them off and they said "Unless we see them do it, we can't do anything. At most, we can call the police, but we're not even allowed to detain them."

And this is why prices keep rising. One guy steals one thing and thinks to himself "It's just one, they'll never miss it." But multiply that by the tens of thousands of people thinking the same thing and you've got a lot of stock disappearing.

So my uncle who's always been an alcy used to go into a superstore (Co-op uk) and just help himself to whatever he wanted (a block of cheese he just opened and took a couple bites) was the one I was told about i remember asking how come he didn't get arrested for shoplifting and was told if you eat the stuff in store it doesn't count as stealing if you just walk out without the item on your person 🤷‍♂️🤣
