I still find it pretty insane that Harriet was never found. I know a short while after they found 2 or 3 eagles one far north and 2 south. 1 of the two was actually hunted down by a pair of Mexicans with the intention of eating it.

There's also another guy from the uk on YouTube that has cameras on different hawks, owls and other birds. Pretty cool to watch. I'm actually in the process of breeding out my birds that are threatened/endangered. Sun conure, yellow front amazon, red fronted and my lears macaw.
Personally... I think Harriet went off to pass from her eagle life alone, even with babes in the nest. She was called home, and she went. She's with Ozzie now. I find peace in that.

My Mom and I talked about her today, she asks what you do... How could she not be found?

My answer is, she didn't want to be found.
Eagle time is not our time and they are smarter and wiser than we'll ever hope to be.

May she grace us in our hearts and may M remind us of her teachings for years to come.

TYVM, but some will complain about the lack of action, links to russian hookers, gay british porn virus, etc etc, but as always,FUCK EM.
The action will pick up a lot when the eaglets grow a bit and turn into bottomless feeding pits.
EAGLETS!! I love that word! 😍

M won't give up this nest without a fight and it looks like F23 is willing to hold her ground as well.

This is good.

Live stream link for M15 and F23....

...my heart, I can't hardly watch....

They have eggs and she is doing what Harriet always did, the night shift. M is no doubt sitting above her.

Owls, BE GONE.

We love you, M...

The nest, imo... looks good.

it's smaller, as if he's teaching.
He was taught by the best.

If, he chooses to keep this nest I predict in the years to come, it'll get bigger like what we've seen before.

He's got her all tucked in there, could be maturity on his part, it is his territory now....

...OR

He's protecting her from those owls.

...or both.

For those just joining the thread...

If you have questions, do ask. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

For those who've followed all these years...

.. in a still shot, she has brown feathers yet around her neck, kinda like a necklace(something to note for future markings). That would indicate she is not yet 5 years of age, an eagle male or female does not have the full bald look or a full tail of white feathers until they are 5 years old.

HOWEVER... Sometimes feathers have a funny way of doing what they please. Harriet had a heart on the back of her neck, if you had a mind to see it.

Once an eagle has reach maturity, their feather pattern never changes. They can shed feathers as the seasons tell them too... the pattern once
mature, will NEVER change.

If a flight feature, those BIG long ones... gets broken, damaged or lost... they will lose the one on the opposite wing to compensate for the balance.

Bald Eagles can dive in flight, at 100 miles an hour, straight down after a challenge to their territory or food.

That's interesting, especially this feather-loss-compensating for keeping the aerodynamics in order. Very advanced. 🙂
Do eagles get 'fresh' feathers every year too, like many other birds?
Maybe every bird gets it; I'm not sure at the moment.
I remember our small parrots and budgies at home back then got special food to support the 'feather change' and the birds were tired and not so chatty and active during this time.

No, they drop feathers less often than a house parrot. Birds of prey once they reach maturity keep their feathers.

This is why no one ever finds bunches of wild bird feathers lying about.

There are two eggs. The count down, is on...

First egg has a 10 day hatch watch...

Egger number two, 13 days...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

...we love you Harriet...

We have a bobble head.

I'm seeing notes that the second egg was crushed by a miss step. Not sure if that is true...
This is M15 on the nest with his newest babe, and digging up an egg. Clearly the pantry is full. That looks like a small fox or a very large rabbit and some fish.

For reference, M15 has the white at his shoulders on the wings. Can't miss it.

A family of three.
F23(mom) top, M15(dad) left and E23.
E23 hatched January 1st. The second egg was hatching at the same time, but something happened and the eaglet didn't survive.

This babe reminds me of E9 💓

EDIT:
Cam 1 is above the nest.
Cam 2 has been jostled and no good.
Cam 3 is the 360 interactive view that you can control.
Cam 4 is the pond view.

There are many threads here that have nothing to do with gore or shock. Just fyi...
