They make a paste and a sauce (bagoong sauce) from that same fermented fish you're talking about & put it in soups to flavor them, noodle broths, like it's anchovy paste but, really rotten & yes, pungent af. 🤢 Best not to ask how it's made or from what if served it at formal occasions really or say you're fasting because you have lab work you must do. 🙊
