If anyone's got space my dad had about 5 bantam hens (small chicken) and a cockrel and that used to easily keep us in eggs, sometimes to the point where we felt eggbound.

I remember when my neighbor had chickens and he would go on 8 week vacations (having Money must be nice) I would sneak over and steal the hens eggs because they would go to waste. Best scramble eggs for dinner ever. When he returned I told him and gave him 20 dollars he only took 2 dollars gave me back the rest of the money. Best guy ever he still is my neighbor I have known him since 1983

We have 16 free range chickens and sell our extra eggs. The less we have to depend on grocery stores and their price fluctuations the better. Seeing people brag about grocery store price savings seems so contrived, like they’re patting themselves on the back for being a consumer, a pawn, without the abilitly to control anything in the price structure, but somehow bragging about the price set by others presented to them for everyday necessities, buying into the idea that they ‘got a good deal’. Did you though?

30 eggs for 10 bux aint half bad,considering some places charged that much for a dozen. even almost that much for a dozen. NYC started selling eggs as "loosies",because people cant afford a whole dozen.

Eggs where I work went down to $5 a dozen the other day. Last time eggs went up few years back the were 9.99 a dozen where I was working. Even as high as they are now we can't keep them in stock not even the 2 1/2 dozen boxes which I refuse to look and see how much they are.

well someone ran on the premiss that he will lower food prices,and people ate that up! (no pun intended). all the while its not in his control.
then set things right weeks later,after that comment,and said he has no control over food pricing. to an extent. because imported foods are part of the tariffs. so in essence he actually raised certain food prices. but this egg thing is a buncha bullshit. ive seen videos of egg farmers themselves saying all this brid flu is a bunch of bullshit,and how its not as bad as the govt was saying it is. and the increase in egg prices are unnecessary. basically saying its price gouging,without saying that. and the needless killing of the chickens the way they are,is a waste. also is a way to raise prices of eggs and chicken because of a "chicken shortage" . its all the govts doing. again,these words (not verbatim) are from chicken farmers themselves.

So tell me - how will tariffs increase the price of eggs, if we import less than 1% of them? Refer back to my calling you a dummy.
