I understand your frustration but imagine they took her away aswell. She doesn't look as the cool hero anymore right. In every profession I know where you have to intervene and take fast decisions like police, ambulance, military, firefighters etc one of the first rules is to check on your own safety first and if it is a good safe and secure choice to go into action or not. It was a good choice in this case because it worked and because the 2 guys were weak pussies (I mean they dragged out a drunk woman to do stuff with her, that's whats implied in the text at least). But the overall best choice would be to take as many information as possible and call the police. It is the same when trying to save someone hit on the road, if it is your child you run, you don't care, it is a reflex but for a random one why take the risk of being run over as happens regularly. A week ago a friend of mine got killed, he was a policeman. A car got him while chasing drug dealers ...
