Gore/death fascination?

Dr. Drea

Lurker
Do you people ever wonder why you like to look at death, gory stuff or whatever? What makes you drawn to it? I'd love to hear different views, opinions and reasons.

What is your specific interest in gore and why do you think it is? I'll put mine in the comments.

My primal interest is death and decay. I have such a weird fascination with death which is weird because I cannot deal with the death of loved ones, still I find myself keep coming back to gore sites, I collect teeth and bones, I cook dead animal bodies that I find outside to get to tje bones and I would totally love to really get close to dead human bodies in different states of decomposition just cause I am interested, I've observed a lot of animal corpses decay but, you know, I wanna see water corpses, burnt corpses, etc. up close and just observe and examine them. My initial dream job was to become a forensic pathologist, I wanted to become that at age 10 and I would still love to do it (I won't for mental health reasons lol but yeh).

This is one of hundreds of threads just like it

I don't wonder why.
Its primal curiosity. Most of the time it's triggered by what I see other times it comes as a feeling and I'm not drawn to it, not in real life anyway. Don't get me going on my dreams.
Decomposition fixation?
Having a decomposition thing is perfectly fine provided that your interests have died naturally...and are not human unless you have a private island somewhere lol just sayn
Aquatic cadavers have to be the most who need tlc. So sensitive to the touch their dermal membrane...is so easily dislodged...care must be taken so as not to compromise their identity or beauty. So much as a kiss even...
The odor issue:
Immediate interaction with those beyond your circle could prove to be problematic. Going to the bank say to make a withdrawal; see where I'm going with this?

Shit my uncle would rent the faces of death and traces of death. For me and my cousins at a early age. He also had a cb so every time he heard somthing fucked up going he would take us. We watched a train that pinned a man one time get pulled apart it kind fucked me up the man was alive talking to his faimly then the cops pulled them away and had the train separate. So as long as I can remember I have been watching and looking this stuff up.

Thanks for taking the time to write all this! Yeah I dream to one day go to a corpse farm, I think they're mostly for scientific and forensic peeps but I guess you can just pay to be there. :) that way the smell issue could also probably be taken care of afterwards ^^

My pleasure.

What are your thoughts on cutting/self mutilation?
My views vary based on context. Some would see body modifications as self mutilation which - to an extend - I don't, I see it as art: there can be piercings, tattoos, implants, cuttings, burnings etc. I myself have tattoos and piercings and I think I will leave it at those arts (for upcoming reasons), but the other practices can be very beautiful aswell.

Sh and self mutilation as a form to cope in my view should and can be treated - not just the sh itself but what lies beneath it, ofc if you have the capacity to do so. I did harm myself in a lot of ways until I was about 23, but I left it behind me for roughly 7 years now and I'm happy I did. I found better ways to cope.

Then there's a kink factor that plays into harm/mutilation that can also be self-inflicted or actively sought out to be inflicted by a dom or sadist when you're into the bdsm community which is also a very complex thing if you really dive into it. It can def have a freeing factor, but as someone who was into knife and needle play whilst self harming I'd suggest thinking things through in terms of why exactly you enjoy it. When I stepped away from self harm, I also stepped away from that, now I enjoy other practices. :)
