The slide was jammed by last shot lock back. It was locked open by the mag shell that was just emptied. There was no stuck round.

There is no ammo left in it when he reaches in. He fires the one in the pipe, then the mag dropped it's contents. The firearm is empty as he's trying to clear the empty mag body. Still kinda stupid to reach into a locked action while trying to clear what has it locked open, though.
