It does actually look like he did in fact land on top of the cab (0.14 sec is the last sign of his arms), while the tire lands around the 9 o'clock area on the screen @0.18 sec.. That tire got some proper fuckin' airtime though..

That is likely caused by the tire setting into place. The puff of air appears to come out from around the rim. That is supposed to happen

The tire probably has ten million miles on it and may have been retread a hundred times.
