disaster Has Everyone Experienced An Earthquake

Many, many times. I lived in the bay area in the 60s 70s and 80s, in Pacifica right on the ocean. Thats where the houses are falling off the bluff and into the ocean.
I had a schoolyard next to my house with sunken basketball poles in concrete. Any day, I could touch one and feel it vibrating, sometimes so hard my my hand was numbed.
Real earthquakes happened every year or two, mostly small, under 5.0.
That Myanmar quake pictured was a monster 7.9 and worse, it was a long lasting one. Combined with a country that I'm sure has virtually no earthquake building codes, and you get a perfect recipe for disaster.
California has had very strict building codes for decades so most structures have at least some preventative measures used.

I am not sure, but I notice this video shows a ladybug sign on the wall and the women are all dressed in red shirts.
