I saw one fly into a squirrels nest at the end of October. I was sitting in a chair at the pool and suddenly heard WHOOSH! I saw the whole nest and hawk going straight down to the ground. The hawk flew with the squirrel in it's talons to a tree branch where it beat the squirrel around some (I saw it's tail thrashing hard on the branch a few times). Next, soft squirrel fur started floating down in little tufts... it was fascinating to behold...
