FOUNTAIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said one person is dead after an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday morning in Bay County.

According to the BCSO, it received several phone calls regarding a man walking on Webber Street with a magazine-fed shotgun. Callers reported strange behavior from the subject near Highway 231.
Law enforcement says that at around 8:30 a.m., a deputy arrived at the scene in Fountain and made contact with the subject when the subject began firing at the deputy.
The BCSO deputy then fired back, shooting the subject, before administering emergency medical aid, officials say. EMS then arrived and took the subject to the hospital, where the subject was later pronounced dead.
Sheriff Tommy Ford has confirmed there were no other injuries.
According to the sheriff, a separate deputy met with the individual on Tuesday for a different incident.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy has been placed on administrative leave, per its policy, while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducts an investigation.
“The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, as per our protocol, has been called in to conduct an investigation of the shooting. And provide those results to the state attorney’s office to determine if the deputy acted correctly, which, at this point, it all indicates that he did,” said Sheriff Ford.
State Attorney Bassford was also at the scene gathering information for the investigation.
Sheriff Ford says the subject was involved in another encounter with law enforcement the night before and showed signs of mental distress.
The sheriff’s office has not released the names of the deputy or the suspect.

I think the very last shot got him. Ernest T Bass.webp

PS - Okay, I found this "Donut Operator" on Wikipedia. Which clarifies a lot.
But the sales talk right in the middle of the program is odd though. Never seen that before on TV.
Haha no its just a sponsor. Youtubers usually have them in order to make money - especially if they dont make ad revenue which I don't think he would since the content is "graphic". I usually just skip right past it.
