Hlo i am suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which lead to hyperinflated lungs because i was smoking for last 4 year one pack a day. Iam 20 now, this condition is worsening my health. I was using a bronchodilator to treat my hyperinflated lungs which is working but slow. I want to know if there is a treatment or medicine which can reduce volume of my lungs(make them smaller).Below pictures of my lung x-ray resting phase, bronchodilator. I have the same issue than you, found out when i was 26yo ! it seems like toulouse has the only new technic that appeared to me as most likely efficient.
Anyway that illness is very long to develop to the point where you have a real disability. unless you didnt quit smoking, then it can be much shorter.

I did not yet, and it should be taken in charge by the french system! No idea about costs for a foreigner...
