I'm no doctor but this looks very third world and you have to pay for medical care and drugs are hard to come by, often out of date or tampered with and medical help can be many hours away even if you have a vehicle.

They probably have no idea of first aid for this kind of injury, like keeping the intestines moist, no idea of western medicine or how to even keep this kid from dying of shock.

I'd put good money on the fact that this kid won't make it a week. Septicaemia will get him or shock will. If he makes it to the hospital it will be like some kind of veterinarian clinic with half assed doctors who may well stitch him up and hope for the best...

And that's just based on a slashing wound across his guts.

If the bullet has gone in then God help him. He'll be riddled with excrement and perforations.

No one will have any first aid kits or bandages or pain killers etc etc.

I've seen an aboriginal kid aged 12 die in Royal Darwin Hospital (where any one sick in a remote community can be flown out immediately by the Royal Flying Doctor service) from an untreated ear infection. Mum took kid to community clinic and was given antibiotics, went bush with kid and didn't give him any as she had no understanding of western medicine and kid ended up unresponsive so they flew him to us. He had a brain infection and died in ICU.

No ICU awaits this poor kid with his guts hanging out... and no Royal Flying Doctor Service either...
