Police Juneau, Alaska police officer put on leave for slamming black

My town has about 35,000 people but still supports seasonal tourism, so there's likely some corruption everywhere here. Summary:
On 07/30/2025, at about 7:32 P.M., the Juneau Police Department received a report of a female fighting with a male in front of the Douglas Library.

Officers arrived outside the library and contacted 47-year-old Juneau resident, Marisa Didrickson, who was identified as the female from the initial report. The male was contacted nearby and identified as a 52-year-old Juneau resident. It was reported to JPD that Didrickson had thrown water in the face of the 52-year-old male and made racial comments about the 52-year-old male being black and not belonging in Juneau. Didrickson was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

As officers were attempting to place Didrickson into the back of the patrol car, they were followed by a friend of Didrickson's, identified as a 49-year-old male Juneau resident. Didrickson continued to cuss and yell at the 52-year-old male, and told the 49-year-old male to, "Take care of him", while nodding back in the direction of the 52-year-old male.

One of the officers attempted to direct the 49-year-old male to continue walking down the sidewalk, away from the 52-year-old male, while the other officer put Didrickson into the back of the patrol car. The 49-year-old male did not comply and continued to come towards the officer, this time in an aggressive manner. The officer attempted to place the 49-year-old male under arrest and into handcuffs. The 49-year-old male resisted and was taken to the ground.

The 49-year-old male sustained an injury to his head during the encounter. He was transported by CCFR to BRH, and later medevacked to Seattle.

The 52-year-old female was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

This incident is currently under investigation.

I'm sure you know that every officer, regardless of the station, is trained to de-escalate situations before they escalate. While there are limits to resisting arrest that can be considered violent, the officer already had the suspect on the ground and handcuffed him then. Instead of using force, the officer should have just handcuffed him and put him in the police car. If he became violent during that process, then you could have reason to taser and slam the nigger for all the court/DA cares. It's frustrating because I have two family members who left JPD about seven months ago because these kinds of incidents happen often here. No they weren’t put on leave just a lateral position 🤣, but they’re rarely recorded due to Alaska’s shitty communication and limited network access. Especially if you’re fucking homeless like the 2 baboons in this video.

I mentioned this a little earlier but, if the guy had been handcuffed or detained and then resisted arrest, body slamming him WOULD have been completely okay, as a matter a fact ten fold it, if the officer went to place on cuffs and the dude pulled out anything a whole clip to the brain would be almost innocent. But since he wasn't handcuffed, it's a legal issue. Honestly, if the officer wasn't caught up in the moment, he could have cuffed him first. I’m sure the nigger spent his time looking up statues just so he could fuck with people in public as niggers have nothing else better to do.

Really? I didn't think the cuffs matter if he's being detained. Cuffs are just one part of detainment along with rights read and such. Well a police can say “you’re detained” and if you resist in any way that’s disorderly not any other way. Until you’re “detained” you haven’t done anything.

It does get a little tricky because most people think the cuffs should be on while “detained” but that doesn’t always apply as people will resist.

I went back to look at him again. On the one hand, his head does not move very much. Gay men's heads move all over the place when they talk, but that guys head made minimal movement. On the other hand, he had that look in his eye as though perhaps something had been shoved up his ass and was still there. I'd say it's a wash.
