However, he was excellent as a speaker, politician, or chancellor, and economic businessman.

You make a good case in point if we are to consider Trump as never having been a career politician, yet, he is now being considered admirably as the next George Washington, but I digress ..
I strongly believe a person can have incredible skills, knowledge and valuable life experience without the recognition of a medal or title. There is a long list of people in the world that have achieved amazing things without even finishing High school. I guess the point I was trying to make is - CNN will try and have everyone believe Hegseth is nothing more than a two-bit TV personality on Fox, and deceptively ignore his legitimate service to country. While he may not be as 'decorated' as some others is not the issue or contributing factor to his ability for the role he's been appointed.
