I only liked Metallica while Cliff Burton was still alive. Rip cliff
Cliff was one hell of a bass player. It's so fucked how a single flip of a coin determined who was gonna sleep in the spot where Cliff died. Do you know the story?

Yes sir ….I do 🤝
Awesome. Drives me nuts when people are like "Yeah, cliff wrecked into a bus drunk driving..." or some other nonsense. Makes me want to smash their head in with a rubber mallet so they suffer longer.

There are some really bad bitches in rock/metal today.
L7 is one of my favorites! Fuck Ya!!!

You and I can debate back and forth every day for all of eternity, but numbers don't lie.

Metallica's LEAST selling studio album, Hardwired To Self Destruct (2,399,493) almost outsold Megadeth's HIGHEST selling album, Countdown To Extinction (2,465,000).

People don't buy records because of technical skills or musical prowess. They buy records based upon what sounds better to their ears. I like both bands, but in a perfect world, Dave would have never been kicked out of Metallica.

Um, no. Dave wasn't a founding member of Metallica. Lars and James met first. Dave came along later.

Metallica was formed in Los Angeles in late 1981 when Danish drummer Lars Ulrich placed an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, The Recycler, which read, "Drummer looking for other metal musicians to jam with Tygers of Pan Tang, Diamond Head and Iron Maiden." Guitarists James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner of Leather Charm answered the advertisement.

Doro Pesch from Warlock is/was a cutie too. But she sings a kind of pop-rock-metal (for my taste).
Let us never forget RockBitch... One of the greatest female bands ever.... Not musically, no. But members often played topless or completely nude:

Metallicas first 3 albums was put of Dave's play book. It can be heard while playing them. That is why Metallica lost it after a while.

Any album after the black album sucked. My fav old school Metallica would be " And justice for all,Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets.
Plus "Kill em all. I may get a lot of back lash, but the black album sucked. And the only Megadeth i still have to this day,"Countdown to Extinction.

I love Arch Enemy's Alissa White Gluz and Angela Gossow.Swedes have always had their metal down to a pact.

Nah, that's a little bit of a stretch. I've been in quite a few bands over the years (and if you ask anyone else that's been in a band, they'll agree) and one thing that happens is everyone gleans and learns a little from each other. It's not uncommon at all. I've learned guitar riffs written by other people who shared them with me. At some point, it just kind of gets absorbed into all of the other stuff I've learned. Next thing I know, I'm writing a song and I find myself playing something familiar but I don't know why. Eventually, I'll remember; Oh yeah, this sounds like that riff Dave showed me.

I guess you'd have to be a musician to understand. To be fair, there's stuff in Megadeth's music that came from Cliff Burton. Hell, until Cliff, you didn't even hear effects pedals being used on bass guitars. (Well, at least not in Thrash Metal.)

I don't think anyone intentionally tried to rip off of each other. It's just how music spreads from ear to ear. Besides, knowing Dave, if he really thought he'd been ripped off he would have sued. He was an absolute asshole after he left Metallica.

And the whole Four Horseman/Mechanix thing? That whole lick was around before them. There's a video on YouTube that goes into detail and highlights chunks of riffs taken from other bands that when combined forms Four Horseman/Mechanix.

I don't think Metallica "lost" anything. I think they just did what anyone else would have done, and carried on the best they could without Dave, and then Cliff.

They are both legendary when it comes to metal.
My man. This right here. Glad you spoke up!

All the arguing and debate and I always think, "Well, fucker? What did YOU contribute?" You know?

What's really great and more important is that Dave, James and Lars mended those wounds and have toured together. The Big Four Tour? I've never enjoyed something so much in my life. Seeing those guys sharing a stage? Sheer magic.

Neither of the bands would ever have existed if things didn't go exactly as they did.

I know, I know.. Metallica kinda sucks. Well... for a while now anyways. The question is,
"Was Megadeth just Dave Mustaine auditioning for Metallica for the second time?" Or "No he just let his piss and vinager." If yes then what made Megadath so great?
You know who else tried to audition for Metallica once? Les Claypool, from Primus. They said he was very talented, but not so much in the screaming department lol.

Mustaine did admit he wanted Megadeth to be "more metal, than Metallica. I sense he was envious for years...

Metallica stopped being a thrash metal band after Justice, they turned into a commercial heavy metal rock act with the black album, even worse how "load" was a absolute load of shit. Megadeth are okay, they remind me of ACDC "all our songs sound the same but that's what the fans want". Slayer shits all over them both in the hierarchy of thrash metal anyway. Metallica is like marijuana metal for 15 year olds, Megadeth is your first taste of heroin at 18 and then you're railing lines of meth with Slayer at 21.

I agree they went from thrash,to hard rock.

You know, as much as I want to dispute you, that's actually quite accurate. After Justice, the only album I really, truly enjoyed from end to end was Death Magnetic. There's just something about that one that I really dug.

Slayer? Undeniable. That band deserves far more accolades than they've received.
