thinking of going for a week to the Yucatan area, curious if others here have gone and what they liked and didn't like.

my "friend" likes to just sit at the beach doing nothing all day but is an animal at night.
i like to wander and see the areas for what they are and chill at night

One of my favorite vacation spots. I’ve been there many times Cancun, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel and others. The hotel zone is the main tourist area and has the white sand and turquoise water but it’s very busy. Personally I prefer staying at one of the adults only resorts along the quiet Riviera Maya.
I’m not a big night life person, I like visiting the jungle, pyramids and cenotes. Best sushi I ever had was in the Yucatán

My friend was near Cancun in january. He told me its quite, no gangs or cartels. Center part of Mexico is very dangerous because cartel have war for this part of land

Thats a pretty bad spot right now more then 10 cartels fight for the areas and plenty of kidnappings. Not like it was during 80's.
