Monday is Confederate Memorial Day. Why does MS still celebrate it and what does it mean?

You review issues and form a position on it, and that just so happens to be contrary to most ppls views? That’s being contrarian.
I forgot to say and I just saw that I was called a troll. That I do object to, I’m not a troll at all

“someone who intentionally posts inflammatory, off-topic, or provocative messages online (forums, social media, games) to disrupt discussions, upset people, or gain attention”

That’s doesn’t apply to me, what I say angers people because this is a maga and fascist nest, but I’m not doing it to anger people and but it’s not to do the last three things in that definition so contrarian yes, troll no.

That's what I meant. Contrary for the sake of being contrary. aka Trolling.
yea but the dictionary definition doesn’t mean that as I was saying. Also I don’t do that. I don’t take a contrary opinion just to take a contrary opinion. I take an opinion because I believe in it or think it to be true. Also I like having debates and arguments about politics. But that’s not trolling.

Definition of trolling: make a deliberately offensive or provocativeonline post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

I don’t do that, that’s not why I post or disagree. I’d prefer to have civil discussions anyway but if people get angry because they can’t stand hearing a contrary opinion that’s not my intention or fault.

Also I want to give some examples of my point about common sense, I see I didn’t do that before so I will now.

If you make an argument or claim and your justification for it is “it’s common sense” . Thats a non-argument, you’ve demonstrated or proven NOTHING by saying that. It’s a fallacy, like saying “it’s natural”.

To the example: For most of human history enslaving our fellow humans was common sense. No one doubted it rightness and no one questioned its existence. The institution of slavery being just and right was COMMON SENSE. Over the past couple centuries that’s changed and flipped and now everyone (except Islamic jihadists basically who use justifications of slavery from Islamic holy texts). But minus them everyone instinctually sees slavery as unjust and wicked and wrong. It’s now common sense that we shouldn’t enslave our fellow humans.

Another example is the position of women in society. Again for centuries woman’s place was seen in the home and raising children and that’s it. It was common sense to them, as well as biblically justified, that that was women’s place in society. If you suggested woman should go to college and become doctors in 1824 they’d look at you like you were crazy. It was COMMON SENSE to them for women to be in the home. Again that has flipped and now if a man prevented his daughter from becoming a medical doctor and wants her to only be a stay at home moms we would look at him like he is a barbarian because now it is common sense for women to go to college if they want to.

Also, and this shows how subjective and not objective common sense is. To people like the Taliban it is common sense that women should go to school. So again “common sense” is not a good way to find out what’s true or what is right or just.

I think you see the point I’m making.

Since you’re following up on a conversation from May 2025, I will go ahead and just call you a contrarian troll.

I expect your response in August
