It really sucked for that one guy who in the 1980's was relaxing on Normandy Beech when suddenly a time portal opened up for a brief moment and he was hit by a bullet from the D-Day invasion. He lived but doctors couldn't deny the caliber of the bullet they removed matched those used by German machine guns in the 1940's. It was reported there were several loud booms heard that day in 1980 from other time portals that had briefly opened. Luckily nobody else was hurt. My theory is the time portals were a result of Cold War nuclear testing fucking up the space time continuum a little. Thankfully those tests aren't done anymore.
